Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MD4E LLC, doing business as MediNav ("MediNav," "we," "us," or "our"), operator of the website at medinav.net (the "Service"), collects, uses, and shares information about you. MediNav is a private company. We are not the government, Medicare, the Social Security Administration, CMS, or any state agency, and we are not endorsed by them. We do not sell your information and we earn no commissions.
By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Information we collect
Information you provide to us:
- Eligibility inputs. To estimate the benefits you may qualify for, we collect information such as your state, household status (single/married), approximate monthly income and savings, and whether you are checking for yourself or someone you help. You can use the free screener without an account.
- Account information. If you create a free account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name. We use passwordless "magic link" sign-in, so we do not store a password.
- Contact details and messaging consent. If you opt in to reminders, we collect your email and, if you choose text reminders, your mobile phone number, along with a record of your consent (what you agreed to and when).
- People you manage. If you use MediNav to help a parent or relative, you may provide details about them (name, relationship, state, coverage type, plan carrier).
- Documents you upload. If you use the plan-document reader, we process the documents you upload to extract benefit details. See "Health-related information" below.
- Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store your full card number; we receive limited billing details (such as subscription status and the last four digits) from Stripe.
- Communications. If you contact us, we keep your messages and contact details.
Information we collect automatically:
- Usage and device data. Like most websites, we and our analytics providers may collect IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and similar technical data through cookies and similar technologies.
Information from Medicare connections (only if you connect):
- If we later offer, and you choose to use, a secure Medicare connection (CMS Blue Button 2.0), we receive the Medicare data you authorize (such as enrollment and Part D prescription data). Authorization happens directly at Medicare.gov; we never receive your Medicare.gov password.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service: estimate eligibility, save your results, help you track applications and deadlines, and read plan documents you upload.
- To send the reminders and updates you opt into (email and, if you consent, text).
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and debug and improve our features.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms.
How we share your information
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Service providers (subprocessors). We use trusted vendors to operate MediNav, including: Supabase (database, authentication, and hosting), Resend (email delivery), Twilio (text messages), Stripe (payments), a website analytics provider, and, if enabled, an AI/OCR provider (reading uploaded plan documents, under a Business Associate Agreement where required). These vendors may process your information only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of MediNav, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with insurers, brokers, or advertisers for their own marketing. We take no commissions.
Health-related information
Some information you provide relates to your health coverage and benefits. We treat this information with care and use it only to provide the Service. MediNav is generally not a HIPAA "covered entity." If and when we handle Medicare claims data through a Medicare connection, or process health-plan documents through a vendor, we apply appropriate protections and use vendors that will enter into a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) where required. Results and any AI-extracted details are estimates and may contain errors; always verify with your plan, Social Security, or your state.
Your choices and rights
- Reminders. You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message, reply STOP to cancel texts, or change your reminder settings in your account.
- Access, correction, deletion. You may access, correct, or delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@medinav.net or through your account settings.
- State privacy rights. Depending on where you live (for example, California, and other states with privacy laws), you may have rights to know what personal information we hold, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any right, contact us at support@medinav.net; we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
- Cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then retain and delete it in line with our legal obligations and legitimate business needs. You may request deletion at any time.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is intended for adults — Medicare beneficiaries and the adults who help them. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party sites (such as Medicare.gov or Social Security). We are not responsible for their privacy practices; review their policies separately.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notify you.
